PARCO DELLA STERPAIA

A collection of Blue Flag award-winning beaches attained thanks to clear waters, high quality services offered, and to the clean and fine sand texture. Sunbathing, relaxing and unwinding with an exceptional view of the islands of Elba, Monte Cristo, Cerboli and Palmaiola. The beaches are lined by a dense pine forest that offer cool and refreshing shade in the hot summer, the ideal playground for your children and the gently sloping seabed allows them to swim safely. Parking spaces are available close to the beach. Even during the winter the sunny days invite you for realaxing walks along the beach or inside the nature park “La Sterpaia.” Find your inner peace breathing the sea air and natural scents and let you thoughts play with the gentle breeze. These are some of the most famous beaches within the Parco della Sterpaia: Torre Mozza, Carbonifera, Il Pino, Mortelliccio, Carlappiano, Perelli.
Travelling south, part of ‘Riserva Naturale delle Bandite di Scarlino’ you can find:

CALAVIOLINA AND CALA MARTINA

They are among the most beautiful beaches in the Maremma region, white sand, clear waters and untouched nature. The beaches are clean and sandy, made up of tiny grains of quartz. The sea is crystal clear and the dense and picturesque mediterranean vegetation stretching down to the beach gives you a breathtakingly unforgettable view. There are no private beaches or umbrella and chairs rentals. You will find communal wooden tables and benches for a picnic in the shade of the pinetree woods that surround the beach.

GULF OF BARATTI

Wonderful sandy beach with pine trees and wide green lawns ideal for picnics. At the far end of the bay there’s a charming small port nestled in the rocky headland close to breathtaking cliffs.

 

 

BUCA DELLE FATE (FAIRIES’ GAP)

It’s made of large pebbles and geologically interesting rocks. The location is fantastic, with amazing views at the end of Populonia promontory, completly covered with mediterranean vegetation. Ideal for diving and snorkeling thanks to particularly clear waters.

RIMIGLIANO NATURAL PARK

It’s a beautiful holm oak forest along the sandy beach, accessibile thru paths in the woods. There are two Punti Azzurri with a lifeguards and where you can find snack bars. There are also tables and benches availble for picnics inside the forest.

PASCIA ‘GLAM BEACH PERELLI (free beach and private beach).

DOG BEACH IN SAN VINCENZO (private beach) Private beaches are where you can rent beach umbrellas and chairs for the day.
